Premiere Show of BTV programme "Avibashi" held in New York 

NEW YORK, July 29 (BSS) - The premiere show of "Avibashi", a BTV monthly programme based on socio-cultural life and activities of the Bangladeshi expatriates was held here last night. 
The programme made in New York under the supervision of "Naksmi Kantha", a cultural organization, will be put on air by Bangladesh Television (BTV) at 10.30 pm of every first and third Sundays of the month. The first broadcasting of the programme would be on August 3 by the BTV. 
The impressive premiere show of this new BTV programme was held in the presence of a large number of artistes, technicians, organizers and leaders of the producing agencies. 
Bangladesh counsel general in New York ambassador Rafiq Ahmed Khan inaugurated the show as the chief guest while producer of the programme Mesbah Ul Islam Talukder, chairman of "Naksmi Kantha" Sheikh Shadi, its managing director Enamul Haq Babu and assistant managing director Zakaria Masud Ziko spoke on the occasion. 
Ambassador Rafiq Ahmed Khan said that this programme would make a bridge between the Bangladeshi expatriates and the Bangladeshis at home. It would also help develop eagerness of the countrymen towards their fellow countrymen living abroad. 
A large number of journalists, litterateurs, intellectuals, community leaders, artistes, businessmen, housewives and general expatriate Bangladeshis enjoyed the programme and expressed their keenness over the success of this exceptional BTV programme.
